    So, of course, the next, unspoken detail of this article is, how much more is going to be added to the price of these vehicles, so that the consumer still actually pays for the insurance that the manufacturers will be responsible for?

    Probably the bigger question is how will this affect the individual car insurance market and should agents be prepared for significant reductions in premium volumes. Thoughts?

    With hackers breaking into every system out there, you would get into a car that is controlled by the internet? Not me.

    The costs for simple service jobs will definitely increase with all the required calibrations necessary on these vehicles to retain automation. Something considered simple like changing out the breaks or installing a new windshield will require the service provider to either outsource these calibrations or obtain the equipment themselves, which may end up putting a significant amount of small operations or mom and pop shops out of business.
