    This article surprised me because I have to admit that I thought that checklists were standard practice in surgery. The article alluded to airline checklists. To expand on that, military or airline aircrews wouldn’t dream of conducting a flight in an aircraft without completing every checklist for every step in the flight- this is drilled into every aviator. So, doctors haven’t been doing this before cutting us open? Of course, the doctor usually isn’t the one who dies if he makes a mistake, unlike a pilot…
