Remember if you are currently in your home, there is a 30 day wait before the flood insurance takes effect, per the NFIP ( National Flood Insurance Program). Go to FEMA.gov to find out more about flood insurance and look at your areas flood zone map to see your flood risk. Indiana, Iowa, Ill. has hi and low risk areas and all were hit. The old ” It will never flood here in a milion years” is just what they thought in Il. In & IA. remeber you can’t fool with mother nature.

There is a whole series of flood articles at MyNewMarkets.com.

I think they can be accessed via the Flood Zone commentary found in the national news section.

    Good info.
