I know…….it’s not about the money. But I find it amusing that 451 living claimants jumped onboard the money train over this tragedy. If no amount of money can “heal the pain”, why did they sue for it? Because lawyers have ingrained the profit connection to tragedies. This was no doubt in suit raising the contingency fee ante to 40-50%. Let’s use 40% for kicks. There had to be at least 1M in expenses/expert fees. That drops the pot down to 11.6M. Divided over 451 claimants, the average “dead bonus payment” is the princely sum of $25,720. Ain’t life grand?
