Not going to happen. Computers will never be able to anticipate and correct for unforseen human errors.

That was the longest IJ article ever. I want a sports car that’s uncrashable and does 70 mpg and also is cool. Don’t think I’ll see it by 2020.

So, is Volvo going to quit making cars? That would be the only way to have a truly injury proof vehicle. The loose nut behind the steering wheel will always cause injuries.

There is no such thing as “injury-proof”, as long as Plaintiff attorneys still exist in the year 2020. The greatest physicians, scientists, & bio-mechanical engineers would not be able to convince a plaintiff atty and a jury that a person could not be possibly injured while sitting in their “injury-proof” vehicle.

Sweden being a premiere nanny-state believes that its citizens are incapable of taking care of themselves hence a robotic transportation module that requires no conscious effort on the part of the “driver” to not crash the car. Dozens of little carressing balloons will emerge to soothe the passengers as the car strikes whatever was in the way.

My first 2 Volvos were greatly improved by the installation of Ford V-8 engines with lots of go-fast improvements. They were brutally fast and I never had an accident.
A careful driver is the ultimate safety feature.
