The lead sentence on this article is interesting. Don\’t you remember, we decided to just pull out of Vietnam – political not military decision. This article infers that we were chased out of Vietnam. Guess this is the liberal press hard at work…

You\’ve got it right Ray, how is this for scary history repeating itself…

The Congress voted to cut of the funding for the war which led to the pull out, NOT THE CHASE OUT, of Vietnam.

Those who fail to learn from history, doom themselves to repeat it – Sir Winston Churchill.

Interesting…that\’s the way I remember it also. WE left, not \”chased out\”. Besides, wasn\’t it a \”political\” war all along?

Uh-huh. Read your history, it started long before that. We were there before and during the Korean War, it just escalated in the 60\’s. Pretty sure Truman & Eisenhower were presidents then.

True, but your history book left out that it was the French who surrendered and pulled out just before JFK sent in the first \”advisors\”.

It was the Kennedy Administration who ramped up US envolvement and coined the phrase \”military advisors\” before Johnson\’s \”Police Action\”, not Truman and Eisenhower.
