Global warming might become a serious problem but, the main issue is whether it is being significantly influenced by man. I and many eminent climatologists believe that man made greenhouse gases are not the major cause. The Earth is still in a period of relative coolness. On average, global temperatures have been six or seven degrees centigrade warmer than current. Surely, some further research has to be applied to seeking the causes of previous warmings and coolings (when human beings had no influence), before spending billions of dollars to solve a problem that might be unsolvable.
The majority of the World\’s population might well consider that global warming is the major issue of the age and that it is all our fault but, when politicians and most of the media insist that it is our fault, people will eventually believe it. Very little airtime and column inches are given to scientists who dispute the current view, indeed, many of them are vilified by those with a vested interest in maintaining that man is to blame. Governments (especially those in Europe) raise vast amounts in environmental taxes and some of this money funds huge research projects into climate models, inefficient carbon neutral alternative energy sources etc etc. Whilst it could turn out to have been the right thing to do, we are going to be rather hacked off it was all a waste of time and money.

I agree wholeheartedly. The money could be used to fund something a lot more useful to the future of mankind. Cold fusion or hydrogen powered autos come to mind, but I would settle for an absolute answer to life\’s enternal question, \”What do women want?\”

Women want the hole in the ozone layer fixed. And the trash taken out, of course. Sometimes we wonder if men EVER listen.

Well if that\’s what women want, maybe they should learn to build rockets. I\’m sure they\’re already plenty familiar with Saran Wrap.

Leave global warming alone! I live out side of Buffalo,NY and last year was fabulous. Sun in Spring, Summer and Fall, warmest January on record…Drive your cars (or at least let them idle longer before you turn them off, have bonfires with your family, cut down trees to make news papers to train your puppies on (and start more fires), etc., etc.). We need eveyones help to turn around this area. NYS with a small population of working people has to support all of our non-working brethren that every other state sent us during the 80\’s and 90\’s. You can still buy a nice house in this ghost town for under $200,000. I know …sun is no big deal to most of you…but it\’s new around here. Thanks for your help.
