Crawford Staff Starts Cleanup in Southern Alberta

Crawford Adjusters Canada’s employees were working overtime recently to help their customers manage claims resulting from flooding in Southern Alberta, Canada.

Call volumes at the firm’s CLAIMSALERT call center reportedly increased significantly during the time. The firm enacted its catastrophe plan by calling in more staff and alerting branch
offices in Alberta to the spike in volume. Crawford’s Calgary branch office immediately opened its doors over the weekend to begin responding to the claims caused by the heavy rainfall.

Faced with similar weather conditions, Crawford offices in Edmonton, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, and Red Deer were also put on alert.

Thousands in Alberta were forced from their homes after heavy rain flooded roads, highways, sewers, and streets, prompting several flood watches and flood warnings in the province.

“We have a large number of employees based in Alberta that were able to establish a catastrophe center and begin responding to claims as they were received over the weekend,” said Chief Executive Officer Glenn Gibson.

Emergency services were called in to deal with what is being called the worst flooding in history on the Red Deer River. No official damage estimates have yet been released.
