CII, BIBA Join with CCI to Present New BI “Master Classes”

The British Insurance Brokers Association (BIBA) and the U.K.’s Chartered Insurance Institute’s (CII’s) Faculty of Insurance Broking have joined forces with Corporate Claims International Ltd. (CCI) to deliver a second series of CCI’s highly acclaimed business interruption (BI) “master classes”.

“The events, to be held throughout June and July, will also involve leading independent adjusters, Fitzgerald Consulting, and city law firm, Edwin Coe, re-establishing the same popular team of speakers that made the 2004 events such a resounding success,” said the announcement.

“They will focus on offering practical advice and guidance for brokers, using real-life, post-loss examples to provide genuinely useful tips on an area of insurance regarded by many brokers as something of a potential minefield,” the announcement continued. The classes will stress not just how to avoid many of the common problems when placing BI cover (and the ensuing threat of negligence claims), but also how best to support clients in the event of a loss, and attract and retain BI business.

“It is vital that our members keep up to date on key technical and market issues and I am confident that CCI’s BI master class delivers the content and focus to both enhance customer advice and support continuing professional development,” stated Jessica Yeoh, manager of the CII’s Faculty of Insurance Broking.

“We are delighted to be working with the CII and BIBA,” added Malcolm Stewart, managing director of CCI. “This marks a further step forward in our efforts to build long-standing relationships with the broking community and to share knowledge and best practice in the field of business interruption.”
