Thieves are like any other craftsmen married to their profession. If security men also were to put their mind into their profession, most of the famous theft in the world would have been avoided.

Any way, lack of proper preventive measures coupled with negligence and lack of care contibute to the losses.

Better control and proper preventive measures and rigorous and continuous training of personnel invovled is called for. Loss prevention measures must be made part of any organization.
Insurance Companies do appreciate such meansures which attract reduction in premiums.

Better luck next time. Please cover yourselves with a good underwrtier.

This theft begs the question….why the “iconic masterpiece” was uninsured?
The whole history of thefts of art by this artist seems “unseemly” and sounds peculiar at best.

And the hat is usually a fuzzy covering of not only the head but also the chin and cheeks, not unlike a “Ski Mask”.
The Crimean War was during Victoria’s reign and not protested in the Mother of Democarcies, the English Parliament, as much as the Boer War.
