Assurex Technology Gives Risk Mgrs.24/7 Capability

Assurex Global, the world’s largest privately held risk management, commercial insurance and employee benefits broker group, announced the launch of new software to enhance communication and information-sharing among its independent broker partners and commercial clients around the world at the Risk and Insurance Management Society’s annual conference in San Diego.

The collaborative software provides a client portal to policy and claims information, according to James Hackbarth, President and CEO of Assurex Global. Among other features, the software offers clients the ability to:
— View summaries of their insurance policies from a secure online site;
— Print summaries of individual policies and certificates; and
— Download forms (such as claim forms and proposal forms) into Excel or other software.

Assurex Global Chairman Greg Belton, President of Hunter Keilty Muntz & Beatty Ltd. in Toronto, noted that the software leverages new, user-friendly web services. “Commercial clients and risk managers have rejected complex, labor- intensive, risk management information systems,” he continued. “Our clients say they want easy, efficient access to data online 24/7. They also want to bring together all the pieces of information on complicated risks that often span operations in multiple countries. Since Assurex Global Partners work together to share documents and project plans from all around the world, the system will improve the ease with which Partners collaborate on an account.”

Hackbarth noted that the system would also be particularly useful for commercial middle-market accounts — a largely underserved group for online tools.

The bulletin indicated that the new software “provides for all information associated with a client — whatever risk managers and their broker partners might require, such as contact details, claims procedures, risk assessment questionnaires, correspondence, underwriting information, improvements to property, proposals, country-specific details, and claims summaries and reports.”

“The software performs in accord with our singular mission as an organization — service delivered to clients locally by a partner broker supported by a global network of 130 like-minded peers and solid carrier relationships,” Hackbarth stated.

Bill Tedrick, a widely recognized insurance IT expert who is consulting on the project, noted: “The global risk management community has learned much in the last five years about what does and doesn’t work to improve communications, efficiency and flexibility for buyers and brokers. That’s why the platform is designed to coordinate with, not replace, embedded systems and workflows.”
