    Howard says:

This is the first rung on a slippery ladder that can end very badly for academia. What happens if a university schedules classes on a day when the weather is very, very bad, and on the way to class a student is seriously injured or worse in a car accident? Will the school be held liable because it scheduled classes in bad weather? This might not seem a frivolous question five years from now.
