But the state of Oregon is reporting a lesser increase in the rate of fatal crashes attributed to marijuana compared to their neighbors with legal recreational marijuana. They also have one of the nation’s highest ratios of DRE, drug trained officers–per capita in the entire United States. Massachusetts has one of the lower ratios of officers. Funding to release officers to obtain training is needed. The state of Massachusetts needs at least one hundred more officers in order to compare to Oregon. Decreasing the death rate due to fatal crashes attributed to marijuana — that should be the goal of everyone. It does not matter if one was for or against legal use, it is now here.
