What cracks me up is this – even with the most powerful supercomputers on earth, forecasters can’t tell you with any certainty whether this storm is going to strike the U.S. mainland or go out to see, TWO OR THREE DAYS FROM NOW. Now I understand that meteorology and climatology are different animals, but intelligent people are recommending making vast changes to our economy (shut down the State of West Virginia, for example) in response to climatological models fifty, sixty, seventy YEARS out. If the meteorologists, with the best tools on earth, can’t tell me what will happen over the weekend, is it wise to let climatologists (with less experience mind you) tell us what’s going to happen in 2080??
