This article seems contradictory on many levels and still, in my opinion, misses the point. Automakers design, install and charge for safety features that have little/no impact on reducing premiums. Yet, accidents, fatalities, etc., are reducing year-over-year due to safety features in cars. What?

My point is that cars don’t drive — people do! Getting a drivers license in most states is a joke, a right of passage, and most folks on the road today should not be driving. Add a few distractions, weather, phones, etc., and there is not enough safety equipment in a stealth fighter to avoid accidents.

Technology aside, focus on the core problem of driver training and enforcement of existing rules/laws on violations, at-fault accidents, suspensions, etc.
