2 New Jersey Men Arrested for Landscaping Equipment Thefts

July 17, 2014

State police say two men stole more than $19,000 worth of landscaping equipment from local businesses and residents in central New Jersey.

And the pair may face additional charges in several other similar thefts.

Twenty-six-year-old Eugene Reeves of Freehold was recently charged with burglary and theft, while 25-year-old Zachariah Famula of Manalapan was charged with receiving stolen property, possessing burglary tools, possession of a hypodermic needle and possession of suboxone.

Investigators say the stolen equipment was sold it at a pawn shop in Pennsylvania.

Troopers were alerted to the thefts in late May, when the owner of landscaping business reported a burglary and theft of a backpack blower, multiple chainsaws and other equipment.

Both men remained jailed Tuesday. It was not known if either man has retained an attorney.
