Massachusetts College First Stop in Fire Safety Campaign

A national campaign to promote fire safety on college campuses will make its first stop at Boston University.

The campaign, called “The Alarming Truth,” includes a short film and seminars around the country to teach students about the leading causes of fatal fires and prevention strategies.

The program is for anyone involved in educating students about fire safety, including campus safety officials, housing officers, community liaisons, fire chiefs and fire prevention specialists.

The project was funded under a Department of Homeland Security Fire Prevention and Safety Grant provided to the Clery Center for Security on Campus, a nonprofit based in Wayne, Pennsylvania.

The campaign will begin at Boston University’s School of Management on June 4.
