    I am sorry for this woman’s tragic loss, but if I were on this jury I wouldn’t give her a dime. Where do people get the idea that a mall owes you a higher duty of protection than you afford yourself?

    Why isnt she suing Range Rover for making a car that causes people to be shot???

    I,too, am truly sorry for her loss but this is just another reason why tort reform in this country is absolutely necessary. She knows that by simply filing this she will receive something.

    The challenge is getting laws passed by legislators who are lawyers themselves.

      You hit the nail on the head “The challenge is getting laws passed by legislators who are lawyers themselves”. The plaintiff’s bar is the primary reason the U.S. hasn’t instituted “loser pays” like other countries have.
