Authorities say the mothers of two young girls injured in an ATV accident in Lincoln earlier this week are facing charges for not properly supervising their children.
The girls, ages 8 and 12, were on the all-terrain vehicle on Tuesday when the driver overcorrected and they veered off a trail and into the woods.
The Maine Warden Service says the younger girl suffered a neck injury. Both girls are recovering.
It was not immediately clear who was driving.
Wardens tell WABI-TV that the accident was not reported as required and the ATV was removed from the scene before authorities got there.
One mother is charged with allowing a minor to operate an ATV while the other is charged for failing to report an ATV accident.
