Massachusetts Contractor Faces $290,000 in Fines in New Hampshire

May 30, 2013

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has proposed over $290,000 in fines for a Massachusetts contractor, alleging a lack of protection for falls at a work site in New Hampshire.

OSHA has proposed fining Twin Pines Construction Inc., in Everett, Mass., on what it says are repeat and serious violations of workplace safety standards at the work site in Durham.

The agency said an inspection showed workers performing framing work were found exposed to falls ranging from 9 feet up to 30 feet due to missing or inadequate fall protection safeguards.

The wood framing contractor has 15 business days to respond to OSHA’s proposed penalties.

A phone message seeking comment from the contractor was not immediately returned Tuesday afternoon.
