New York Man Injured, Ticketed After Snowmobile Crash

A New York man who broke his neck in a snowmobile accident faces charges of drunken snowmobiling.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office says 41-year-old Thomas Potter of Taberg was riding alone at 1 a.m. Saturday on a trail in the town of Annsville, about 30 miles northeast of Syracuse. He hit a tree that had fallen across the trail and was thrown from his Ski-Doo.

The sheriff’s office says Potter lay in the snow for an hour before a trail groomer from the Taberg Trail Blazers found him.

Potter was taken to a hospital by ambulance for treatment of a broken neck and back and injuries to his face. He was ticketed for snowmobiling while intoxicated.
