Speaking from experience, PA needs to do something about their DUI laws. I was struck as a pedestrian in my parking lot by the contractor they hired to plow. He was so drunk I could smell the alcohol on him- fortunately I was only hit by the ploy in a ‘sideswipe’ fashion- then he fled the scene. This is common there apparently. I filed charges, and even took off work to attend the hearing. This was his 3 or 4th DUI- he plead out – again- and got away with a small fine. My injuries were only bruises but it could have been worse. It’s disgusting the (lack) of penalties for this type of crime.
