October 31, 2012

At least three buildings in Alexandria, Va., have sustained heavy damage from former Hurricane Sandy.

Virginia State Police say three buildings have roofs that were partially torn off by the wind. One building is a garden-style apartment building that has been condemned.

Police say 20 residents have been evacuated from the building and were relocated to a shelter.

Police say about 10 homes in the city have tree damage. But there have been no reports of major flooding. About 11,000 Alexandria residents are without power.
