Apparently the geniuses who call themselves lawyers and judges don’t understand the current penalty system will never change behavior. “If” they ever got serious about DUI, they’d put some teeth into the law. All it takes is one incident of DUI to kill an innocent person. Why do we tolerate the problem? The first offense should carry a hefty fine and notice to the auto insurance company. (if there is one) The second, an bigger fine and 5 days in jail. The third, confiscation of ANY automobile the drunk is driving and one year in prison.
