Washington Monument Didn’t Sink After Earthquake

    It didn’t sink and it didnt sway off center. How bad could the damage be? 2 years and $15,000,000 taxpayer dollars to fix some cracks. Nice work if you can get it. I wonder if any competent, independent engineering firm reviewed the estimate before repairs were approved approved? I’m forecasting a cost overun already. Would have been nice if the last time they shut this monstrosity down for 2 years they would have anticipated a freaking earthquake and shored it up to withstand it.

      You already know EVERYTHING is inflated in DC. You shouldn’t be so surprised.
