I don’t pretend to understand the whole kosher thing but why the appearance of the outside of an animal is critical confounds me. It seems to be a constant in a world of change. Maybe the Jews should set-up their own processing plant. And what’s a class action suit going to accomplish? If anything, injunctive relief is all that could possibly result. I’m sure the Jews aren’t out to make money. Any why, after decades of enoying this product, have they suddenly decided it’s not kosher? Get a life people.
I’m with your Jester. All a lawsuit is going to do is make ConAgra rethink doing kosher meats….then where will Jews be? They’ll have find another company OR set up their own processing plant.
The Kashruth (Kosher)of meats ingested is of importance to my people, whether or not you or anyone else understands it. The point is that ConAgra may be guilty of false advertising, misrepresentation and fraud; this is actionable in Court – and will be decided there.
It is hard to believe that an outfit as large as ConAgra wouldn’t try to cut corners. Their bottom line is profits, not customer service. I would like to hear what the rabbis charged with confirming the Kosher quality have to say about these charges.
My understanding is they are supposed to be overseeing this process.
Perhaps Conagra should consider getting out of the Kosher meat business since they don’t appear to give a damn about the process.
Stick to looking for ways to keep finely textured lean beef product and other yummy ingredients in the food the rest of don’t pay attention to until there is a bacterial scare.
Remember we need to get rid of regulation of these companies because they will properly police themselves in an unfettered free enterprise system because large businesses do what is right for consumers, not cut corners so investors can profit. I will sleep better tonight knowing that.
As a consumer, I’m properly offended that the charges here may be true and that people have been fired to cover up a fraudulent act. While I am not Jewish, I prefer this product because of the quality that being Kosher requires. If true, I hope the truth is revealed for full public view and not buried in a confidential settlement.
I am with Little Frog, I’m not jewish either but buy these because I don’t want to eat the pink slime and ears the regular hot dogs are made from. I spend considerably more for this product because of the cuts of meat it is supposed to be made from and would certainly stop buying it entirely if the accusations are true.

Sounds like a typical Jewish “whine”. Find another retailer if you don’t like this one.
Jester you are an ignorant and small minded pitiful man, and I’m not Jewish, just disgusted with your kind of bigotry.
