Lawyer: Troopers Beat Man After Concert Fight

A western Pennsylvania man says two state police troopers shackled him to a bench and beat him after he fought with an off-duty trooper at a concert five years ago.

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports Christian Boehm’s lawyer said in opening statements Monday his client’s constitutional rights were violated by two state troopers after the fight at a Toby Keith concert in 2007.

Boehm filed suit claiming troopers Vincent White and Adrian LaPaglia beat him up after he was taken into custody by local police.

The troopers’ attorney says Boehm received his injuries in the fight and the troopers handled his arrest properly.

Boehm pleaded guilty to charges related to the fight before a Washington County judge and was sentenced to more than a year in jail.
