Police are not obligated to be the personal security guard for everyone who’s been in a bad relationship. This woman is looking for money in all the wrong places. If her daughter thought she was in danger she should have taken steps to protect herself.

When she hired a lawyer to withdraw the first lawsuit, wasn’t she advised of the existence of the statute of limitations? When she hired (the same or a different) lawyer to re-file, wasn’t she advised it was after the statute of limitations had expired? Whenever I read about these lawsuits that are incorrectly filed (or late) I wonder, are not lawyers subject to E&O for incorrectly advising people? When there is ‘no coverage’, agents and brokers are immediately on the chopping block.
