Randolph, Vermont Downtown Building Destroyed by Fire

No injuries are being reported after a fire heavily damaged a three-story building in a Vermont community that has already seen three major downtown fires in the last generation.

The Randolph fire was reported at about 3:45 a.m. Thursday after a resident was awoken by smoke detectors.

Four people were evacuated from the building.

The fire started on the third floor. The cause of the fire has not been determined.

Town officials say that in 1991 and 1992 the downtown was devastated by three major fires within a 16-month period.
