There should just be a blanket law against reckless/distracted driving. I don’t care if you’re on your phone, texting, playing with the radio, eating, shaving or fiddling with your GPS, if you’re driving distracted you’re dangerous to yourself and others.
While I’ve yet to meet someone who can do it, if there is someone out there who can text and drive safely, they’re not really a problem, are they? But the fella shaving on the way to the office in the morning might be all over the road, but I don’t see any laws against that on the books.
