The question arises as to why Camden doesn’t have liability insurance to pay both the settlements and legal fees. How about the highly-touted Joint Insurance Funds set up many years ago for counties and municipalities. Why doesn’t the JIF’s policies cover this? Negligence on the part of Camden and the JIF? Another political boondoggle gone bad – for the taxpayers.

    Still can’t get it right.

Where in goodness sakes is their risk management? They apparently took a pass on EPL (no mention of any coverage payment, only the need to borrow funds to pay the settlement) and were incapable of doing any re-training of existing management to reduce likliehood of repeat offenses.

Just perfect that it’s the same two guys who had the original beef with the boss. Now these mutts get to retire with a pension AND investment income.

I hope Camden loses on appeal for stupidity and incurs monster legal fees too.

Anyone ever been to Camden? It makes Detroit look like Shangri-La.

The only two white people in Camden are the two guys accused of discrimination. Why is it that the ONLY people on the face of the earth to constantly claim discrimination are blacks? They have this racism/discrimination card down to a science. I guess if the only tool you have is hammer, ever problem looks like a nail.

Either you are the real thing, or you are a real good arsonist.

I’ll go with the latter, and that you just threw 50 gallons of gas and a match on this website. Grab the marshmallows; it’s gonna be a bumpy afternoon. Can’t wait for Rosie et al to appear.

I think Roy has an irrefutable point. I can’t remember ANYBODY else playing a race card when things didn’t go their way. While they may be straightforward, I find nothing inflammatory in his remarks.

    Hey Remee,

apparently you didnt read Roy’s remarks – see below:
    1. The only two white people in Camden are the two guys accused of discrimination.

    2. Why is it that the ONLY people on the face of the earth to constantly claim discrimination are blacks?

I’m not black, but they arent the only people on the face of the earth to constantly claim discrimination. Using Roy’s logic, you could apply that to women, old people and everyone else that tags EPL policies on a daily basis.

I’m not saying these two guys should have won their discrimination case, more than likely they were trouble makers and complainers anyway, but i know lots of white folk who whine about everything also.

Bottom line is that Camden had the deck stacked against them because a jury of their peers, who are some more non responsible, whiny people looking for a free ride made the call in this case.

Passing over all of the preceding comments so as to get at the heart of the matter the residents of Camden (financed as it is by all of the taxpayers in NJ) need to put all of the blame for the costs and damages at the feet of (a) their elected “leaders” and (b) the political types acting as Camden’s “Risk Manager” and the personnel at the JIF. If Camden didn’t have EPLI coverage, it is the fault of their Risk Manager and the JIF.
