Study: Delaware’s Fatal Crashes Most Often Involve Only Single Vehicle

AAA Mid-Atlantic says single-vehicle crashes account for most of the deaths on Delaware roads, with distracted drivers causing most of those accidents.

Catherine L. Rossi, AAA’s manager of public and government affairs, says the findings are troubling. She says inattentive driving can include eating or putting on makeup, or talking on cell phones or sending text messages.

Single-vehicle crashes caused 56 percent of Delaware’s traffic deaths last year, when they accounted for 68 of the 121 fatalities.
