Can’t the doctors at Rhode Island Hospital afford to splurge for a few Sharpies? Then, BEFORE the surgery, take a few minutes and TALK to the patient, VERIFY the surgical site, and MARK it with the pen?

Come on, guys, it’s not brain surgery! (Although I guess it was in 2007, thrice!)

Frankly, I do not see why this hospital’s surgical unit has not been shut down by the State?

How many times is the State going to allow this hospital to continue doing this to the patients/taxpayers?

$50K fine for 3 botched surgeries! That’s why it continues to happen.
