litigation is an epidemic in the U.S. Everytime something happens a suit gets filed demanding money. Absent gross negligence on the part of the store, there shouldn’t be that big a flap. So a bunch of people became ill. People get ill everyday from natural causes and never think about being COMPENSATED. Some sleaze bag lawyer found a way to organize everyone involved and promised them money. They should be reimbursed out of pocket meds and given a free sandwich.

I agree. I don’t think they should even get the reimbursement for meds and the free sandwich. Stuff happens. OK, the tomatoes were tainted and people at the sandwiches and got sick. Probably diarhea for a couple hours. People get sick everyday from a viariety of things. Life isn’t fair. You take risks every day. The only way I would say they should be compensated in anyway is if someone purposefully made them sick or some type of gross neglignce on the part of the company led to someones death. hen compensate the dead persons family and no one else.
