The facts speak for themselves. There is negligence in getting behind the wheel of a car being old and on medication. These old people try to protect their “independence” and don’t have the common sense or objectivity to stop driving when they become a hazard. Someone else needs to make that call for them. They should be required to pass both a vision and road test ANNUALLY after age 70.

Naaah… Just give em a CDL and let them drive tour busses, rigs, and school busses – gotta make a living somehow in this economy….

You’ll have the bleeding hearts club band at your doorstep not to mention AARP – Don’t want to get on the wrong side of that group!

I’m not sure which is worse..The girl in the prior article who was high after huffing or the 79 yr old guy in this instance. Both want the independence of driving but neither want to accept the responsibility that comes with the privilege of doing so. Both were aware of their state but both chose to drive..Both killed someone..Question then becomes why
won’t the same homicide charges be applied?..The crime is the same so why shouldn’t the punishment?..
