    wow! how does one think that he can allow his trucks to be on the road w/o insurance and w/o proper maintenance. i hope that they company is now defunct. i hope the families involved have gotten their money. he’s 73! so 6 yrs will make him 79. he’ll have lost everything he’s had, his wife will be going to jail for fraud.

    Yes, Wudchuck, how DOES one think that? Hmmm, could it be the Federal Government allowing us to think that?? In fact, ENCOURAGING it, with the open borders for trucking commerce??

    i used to be an otr trucker, driver trainer… open borders for commerce, is fair and equitable, as well as good for business; canada’s been doing it for years; we just have a tendacy to think that the mexican trucking companies can’t keep safe trucks; i know i remember seeing a few that seemed not in good shape… we just need to make sure they bring safe trucks across the border… but in this case, it had nothing to do w/the the border crossing… it has to do w/proper maintence and record keeping, including maintaining the insurance…
