Minor Earthquake Felt in Upstate New York

The National Earthquake Information Center says a minor earthquake has been recorded in the Albany, New York area.

The magnitude 3 quake happened at about 8:50 p.m. in rural western Albany County. Jessica Sigala of the U.S. Geological Survey’s center in Golden, Colo., says Monday the center received reports of the temblor being felt in neighboring Schoharie, Schenectady and Saratoga counties.

There were no reports of injuries or damage.

A quake of magnitude 2.5 to 3 is the smallest generally felt by people.
