Southwestern Pennsylvania Counties under Flood Warning

May 5, 2009

The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for two southwestern Pennsylvania counties after persistent rains.

The warning in Fayette and Greene counties lasts until 4:30 p.m. Monday.

The area has received more than two inches of rain since Sunday morning and another inch of rain is forecast by noon Monday.

The weather service says motorists should be careful if they see water on roadways and if they’re driving near streams and creeks, many of which are cresting over their banks.
