The response to this is a joke. 300 gallons of fuel oil is nothing compared what else is in the Hudson River. Besides, the barge and the ship did a good job of containing the spill. The Coast Guard is spending tens of thousands of dollars “monitoring” the spill over concern of damage to the “shore”. There is no shore in NY harbor. They must be worried about polluting the pollution on the edge of Hoboken, Jersey City, and Bayonne. I think they should bring in the EPA. They’ll probably determine the fuel oil contaminated the other toxic waste that lines the shores.
