By many measures both physical and mental I could probably qualify as disabled. I certainly couldn’t run a marathon much less exclaim “Nike!” as I passed the finish line. Surely I would drop dead too.
This man is clearly and without question fit as a fiddle. Every cent should be recovered and crippling economic penalty seems appropriate (pun intended).
As a retired military member, I am ashamed of this man’s actions. But, I remember a supertyphoon in Guam is the last 70’s where many military (including officers) were submitting claims to Red Cross for non-existent losses – and getting the money and/or food.
This is one military officer that is not an outstanding example of the honor of military officer as expected.
Here’s another case but this one’s worse! In Sept 2006 the US Air Force announced that Major Jill Metzger was missing and possibly “kidnapped” from the nation of Krygyzstan. She was found by the Krygyz Govt 3 days later and they subsequently determined she faked her own kidnapping and was lying. The Air Force has awarded her a disability pension and snuck her out the back door. This is a big issue and the major news media covered the story until it pointed to misconduct. Those are the FACTS. As a former surface line offer, $5 says he was in the Supply Corps…… Never standing a bridge watch and always catching the movies in the ward room.
