I wonder if Patterson will change his tone after next months elections…..if the banking industry situation hit our industry (and it still may) this guy would/will be very sorry that he said it was a good idea to underfund the companies that need the extra premium. Second….with out the needed increase in premiums this will force some of the players out of the state, limiting options to the residents of the great state of NY. Will he be patting himself on his back next year when any of this happens?

Where is the logic in coupling insurance rates with gas prices. Regulators love when prices rise and they justify reduced rates, what happens when gas prices drop and people drive more? Do you think they will freely allow the insurance companies to adjust rates upward due to higher mileage? Let the market adjust rates!

Has anyone seen the George Washington Bridge on a Sunday night? How about a 90 minute delay and surrounding bridges/tunnels are almost as bad here in NY. Traffic in the NY metro area is the worst it’s been in my 25+ years of driving
and with body repair costs going up it’s no wonder why auto insurers are looking for rate….
