    A while ago we were talking about New York politicians adding more regulation “to save lives”. Looks like to me they just need to enforce the regulations they have in place..

    Yes, Altobelli has some negligence for not enforcing the regs. However, Esposito bears at least as much personal negligence for failing to secure his lanyard to something, anything. This guy was 43 years old, an experienced worker who should have known better. If he had taken personal responsibility for his own safety he’d be alive today. Society can’t always blame somebody else for personal stupidity and carelessness of the injured party. Anybody working at those heights without a safety harness is an idiot.
