Wasn’t it Liberty that stood up against Spitzer & NY to fight for contigent commissions?

It’s about time SOMEBODY cracks down on the inequities between the companies and the NYSIF.

Right on, Joe. IIABNY is fighting with all they have to level the field. The SIF has had advantages (and certainly take them) for long enough. Our carrier of last resort has become the largest competetor in the NY comp market, again, unfairly so. Good for Liberty!

As much as I dislike Liberty becaue they are serious competition to us independents, I applaud their efforts. It’s about time someone with Liberty’s power stood up against the SIF.

My insurer – yay! I’m glad to see them fighting back. The brokers and insurers should have fought back against Spitzer for abusing his power.

It appears that NY has crossed the line on this obviously selfish piece of
legislation. It is admirable that Liberty Mutual (nation’s leader in Workers’ Compensation)is calling New York to account. Shame on NY for this power grab but accolades to Liberty for standing up to them. Here’s hoping that Liberty Mutual prevails!

With my personal experience of LM handling of my PPD, I pray every day that they are made to be held accountable for deceptive, unethical & abusive practices (i.e., withholding at random prescribed medications that were often approved of for years but “suddenly, without warning” are no longer approved, no explaination, no communication. Also experienced is withholding of treatments and rehabilitation – AND ALL EXPENSES associated with it. So essentially, the company has no morals, values nor does it follow any medical ethical priniciples or policies.

My experience with Liberty Mutual, in New York State, is they will do everything possible to with-hold payments, even after settling the case. In my case they have used deception and outright lies to delay testing, doctors care, and the timely delivery of required medications. It is just this type of unscrupulous behavior that has forced NY to act. I have the belief the positive comments listed here came from Liberty Mutual employees or their family members.

They are absolutely horrible as a comp insurer. The NYC School Construction Authority uses them as their carrier and since getting hurt in a school they have been NOTHING but problematic.

Everyone and anyone injured on an SCA job should immediately contact a lawyer and then proceed, do not bother thinking they are there to do the RIGHT THING…they aren’t. Their methods are sneaky, tricky, and according to THEM…there is nothing you can do about it. They try to get out of responsibility for just about EVERY School Construction Authority claim and yet their underhanded tactics go unpunished.

You know, it’s really disgusting when an insurance company can get away with the things that they do. Noone monitors them, noone checks the “doctors” that are in their employ, and noone pays enough attention to their stall tactics.
