“Anheuser-Busch Inc., The Home Depot, Clear Channel Broadcasting”… since clearly they were so directly involved with igniting the pyrotechnics.

Even the foam manufacturer… sheesh. Come on, do they REALLY need to label *FOAM* as *FLAMMABLE*? Um, Duh.

Maybe it’s possible this was a tragic, horrible accident that doesn’t justify jailing multiple persons for multi-year jail terms and suing the city, state and anyone who even thought about the band “Great White.”

Horrible, horrible tragedy that stinks more and more like a scummy money grab every day.

Remember, it is more than just the money. I mean one of the people who hit a pay day said so. It must be the truth.

One “victim” claims since the death of his 21 year old son , it has been a great financial burden. He justs want the case settled so they can be paid what they are due.

How much could a 21 year old add to a family finacially? It’s been 5 years, he has settled with the death of his son and now it is payday.

I guess some people can see the silver lining on such a sad accident.Or should it be gold linging?

Maybe those that are struggling financially were injured parties that survived.

There was nothing wrong with the foam being used to absorb sound. If functioned perfectly fine until the jackasses from the band used pyro-techics without telling the bar owners. There are only two culpable parties in this disaster: the band and the bar. The band for starting the fire, and the bar for having emergency exists chained shut.
Nobody else should be paying a cent to surviving relatives or estates. Paying anything to those injured would be stretch. These “shotgun” tactics of suing anybody with a deep pocket should be contrary to public policy and dismissed. Anheiser Bush paid money? For providing beer to a bar? Nonsense.

While I don’t agree with the settlement in the least, at least this time they found somebody who was at least remotely connected to the club and the foam. That’s a step up from the last article that covered a settlement from a foam company that may or may not have at some point in time manufactured foam that may or may not have at some point in time been considered for use in the club and may or may not have etc etc.

It’s said to see people cure a broken heart from death with money. America will spare their loved ones for a payday and that’s just sick. I’m tired of seeing people suing for money just because a loved one died. What was an 18 year old doing at a club with alcohol anyway? So the bar should sue the parents for their child being somewhere he shouldn’t have been to start with. A good parent would’ve had life insurance on their child and wouldn’t have to depend on lawsuits to bury them. I mean I’m 23 and I still don’t contribute that much to the household financially. These people need counseling.

my H.S. band teacher recommended egg crate foam for sound proofing. These lawsuits are frivolous in my opinion. These families just want the money it has nothing to do with consumer/distributor awareness safety concerns. If america keeps this up the gov. will be mandating helmets to you idiots. only trailer trash listen to great white good riddance, give whoever is responsible for their deaths a cash reward for the cleansing of a gene pool. LESSON: DONT PLAY WITH FIRE; IF SOMEONE IS PLAYING WITH FIRE LEAVE OR FACE THE CONSEQUENCES especially in a crowded nightclub. You people are idiots
