Congratulations New Jersey…. the undisputed most corrupt state in the nation. This will make a significant difference in society. It’s not like there are any other crimes that the cops should be focusing on.

So cops shouldn’t investigate armed robbery because there are murders? I’m glad you’re the one drawing the line about what crimes are worth punishing and which ones (e.g. deterrents to dangerous driving) are not. Are you the publicly elected DA? Or just somebody who thinks they can make decisions without thinking big picture?

Personally I applaud the effort to crack down on this dangerous habit. I wouldn’t want to be the one that one of these drivers hits because they were using their cell phone.

These cops are hassling teenagers over technical “violations” of provisional licenses. They aren’t busting them for speeding, grand theft auto, or reckless operation. How do you equate this with New Jerkey’s other issues like also being the MURDER capital of the country? What about its problems with domestic violence, grand theft auto, drugs, assaults, reckless operation, DUI? This “crackdown”is nothing more than “picking low hanging fruit” for issuing tickets and generating revenue.

Murder capitol of the world???? What are you on? Personally I wish they would do it more often. Those very young DISTRACTED drivers are a danger to everyone else on the road. God only knows how many accidents thay have caused.

Next get those stupid adults gabbing on their phones. You’re probably one of them.

Reference June 9, 2008 IJ article under National Section titled “Study: Teen Drivers Often Ignore Bans on Using Cell Phones and Texting”…Seems like Dread is contradicting his/herself.

I can’t wait for a teenager busy texting instead of driving hits you. Then you can tell everybody how useless it is to eradicate this kind of behavior. Then again, Suzi was probably right, you must be one of those idiots driving and putting on eye make up at the same time. Have an injury free weekend!

And just to clarify for you of the low reading comprehension, the statement about murder was an ANALOGY. Nobody said murder is equal to cell phone driving. The point was that you can’t use the logic of “there’s a more important crime out there” to not go after another.

    Go finish your GED studies.

I agree on that whole no cellphones while driving couse its dangerous but teen crackdown for all those things thats too much iv seen hell lot of older people using their cell phones and driving and the police wont even stop them? why? driving with 4 people on restricted thats funny stuff i think this country should take some examples from European streets. And instructors should be more strick on drivers who are unsure when they get into the car
