The jury made an award based on the evidence and testimony in the original case. When appealed another jury decided another award (Both awards reduced, as typical for judgments of that size. The Pltf. did not lose becuase of evidence, but because of his failure to appear w/o just cause (per judge). I sure hope that his atty clearly advised him of what the consequences of not appear in court are. If not, then that atty may be losing sleep over the possibility of a legal malpractice case headed against him.
This is a personnel friend of mind and this is awful that this happen to him and how in the HELL would you know if a plan clothes officer is a cop you figure it out…..
