The rules apply to us little people, not the bigwigs like Al Franken. That’s the liberal way – they make the rules, we have to keep them and pay the taxes.

His “viewpoint” involves higher payouts to those injured on the job in MN, which is one of his campaign issues there. So yeah, his viewpoint is different: he’s a hypocritical democrat (sorry for the redundancy).

That’s the liberal way? Have you not been reading the newspapers for the past 7 yrs? I agree that it seems to be the wealthy way, i.e. do as I say and not as I do, but labeling it as a liberal idea seems a little off-base.

The rules apply to us little people, not the bigwigs like the Bush and Cheney families, Rush Oxycontin Limbaugh, etc., etc. etc. . That’s the conservative way – they make the rules, we have to keep them and pay the taxes–and die in their filthy oil wars. At least no one died.

Conservoman–the time for the big lie is over. As your mouthpiece says on Fox Agitprop (“News”)–SHUT UP! JUST SHUT UP!

Go vote for your old man–given his age and the demands of the office, it is going to be a new version of that classic game–BEAT THE REAPER, through entirely natural causes.

Have the sort of day you deserve….

The rules don’t apply to me because, well, I am Al Franken, and you’re not.

Now THIS is the liberal way. Why is it that liberal always seem so mean spirited?

“SHUT UP! JUST SHUT UP!” “Have the sort of day you deserve….”

When I think of a liberal this is exactly the type of attitude I think of.

Conservative or liberal, the wealthy and powerful are all the same. They play by different rules, and are somehow entitled to ignore such petty things as workers compensation statutes.

However, and this is addressed to “Liberal”, I am just curious about whether or not you use oil products? When you describe the Iraq war, as misguided as it might be, as a dirty war for oil, look in the mirror, and also at our standard of living, and ask yourself if you are willing to part with any portion of that oil.

    Well stated, Middleoftheroad.

Conservatives and Republicans are not one and the same. A conservative is a person with a particular point of view. A Republican is an affiliate of a political party. Same applies to liberals and Democrats.

Now, if people wanted to start discussing the core of the issues and stop labeling each other, perhaps both sides could learn a little? Just a suggestion.

The very wealthy do not have to follow the same rules as the working class because when they have a problem all they really have to do is throw money at it and the problem goes away. Must be nice.

Al Franken either made an honest mistake or someone in his camp didn’t do their homework. He probably put someone else in charge of it and they dropped the ball… How many politicans/celebrites actually open their own mail? My boss doesn’t open her own mail and she’s neither politician nor celebrity. Poop happens, but at least he said he would pay it.
