no jail time, probation — wow! are we so afraid as judges, we can’t put them to jail for scams! causing so much $$ in insurance, that in turn causes rates to increase. this one was caught and is paying restitution.

now, the $17k, can we now get IRS in on this because that becomes taxable income not reported! um…..

Don’t overreact. The article also says he has to pay back $64,000. Considering jail overcrowding and the fact that he only made $17,000 on the deal, that may be punishment enough. He is paying back almost 4 times what he made.

I think the prosecutor did an excellent job, however, no mention of what happens to the doctors and chiropractors who facilitate this fraud… are they allowed to continue with their business of monkey business?

I Certainly hope that the “unnamed chiropractor” is eventually named and nabbed for his crime. Restitution $$$$+++, should be paid. Unfortunately, fraud against an insurer is not a “sexy” newsline, and a “slap on the wrist” is not a deterrent to future perps. of the world.

I did see another news article about this one. It was the Chiropractor that enlisted his help. One of the main charecters missing is the good doctor who should have their license trashed and made to pay back what they billed.

Totally it is a sad statement.
