This could be a prime opportunity for “Papa SNRF” to execute a trial by trucking all of the excess landfill material and fillin the center of the swamp creating a neww elevation certificate for the city at around 1250 feet above flood level. This would endear either Ms Clinton or Obama to all of the residents and present temporary scum/swamp dwellers at least through the 2012 election year.

How soon they forget the flooding from Hurricane Isabel that occured in the area being remapped when it “wasn’t in the flood zone.” As for the author of this article, they continue to perpetuate the misconceptions around the NFIP by referring to the area being remapped into a flood zone.
All of the country is a flood zone.
There are the high risk/SFHA/100 Yr flood plain/A zones,and there are the low to moderate risk, B,C, & X zones.
If you’re not offering NFIP flood coverage to your clients and having them sign a rejection/acknowledgment when they decline the coverage, you need to buy more E&O coverage. Or stick to selling auto policies.
