    Another brilliant verdict. Where was the kids grandmother when this happened? Most people with half the sense of a beagle hold a four year old’s hand on an escalator. And why did the parents get $250K each?

    Why didn’t the family bring suit in China, if the loss occurred there? Does China have the same elevator safety standards as the US? Does the Long Arm of Mass. superior reach out to a loss in China? I understand that Otis is an american co. and the clmt. is american, but i suspect that the primary reason why the suit was brought in the US is because the Clmt. was very unlikely to get anything close to $2.8 mil in China.

    I feel bad for the boy. The caretaker should feel guilty.
    I always watch my children and hold them tightly when it comes to elevators, trains, cars.

    WHy didn’t you sue the management of the building in China?
